About Wallpaper Online Canada
Wallpaper Online Canada is a Vancouver-based direct-to-consumer wallpaper and wall-mural maker. We design, print and ship from our British Columbia studio — three different wallpaper materials, custom sizes, and free shipping anywhere in Canada on orders over CA$300.
We launched in 2023, an extension of our six-year-old South African wallpaper brand, after Canadian customers kept asking us to ship to BC and Ontario. Today, we’re earning a 4.9-star average across 138+ verified Google reviews and growing into the Canadian market the same way we built South Africa — locally printed, top quality and affordable prices. We’re here to bring joy to peoples spaces and that’s what we’re doing.
How we started
Our founder, Dillon Warren, spent six years building Wallpaper Online South Africa into the country’s largest peel-and-stick wallpaper maker. In 2023, after meeting Ben Monkhouse, a local Canadian entrepreneur and fellow design fundi, the pair decided to set up a Canadian print operation — not as an import distributor, but as a fully local studio.
We chose Canada because the same problem South Africans faced in 2020 was true here in 2023: the wallpaper market was dominated by import suppliers with long lead times, paste-only formats that didn’t suit rentals, and limited inventory in Canadian-relevant styles. We started small in Vancouver with one printer, a curated library of 600 designs, and three substrate options chosen for Canadian homes and weather.
In two years we’ve grown the library to 1,500+ designs, added a Canadian-artist collection that doesn’t exist anywhere else, and built up our review base to 138+ verified Google reviews.
How we make wallpaper
Every order is printed to your exact dimensions. Nothing is pre-printed and warehoused — your wallpaper doesn’t exist until you order it. That means no offcuts, no waste, and the colour you see on screen matches what comes off our printer because we proof every batch.
Three substrate options:
- Peel & Stick Smooth Matte — our most popular finish. Renter-friendly, removable, low-tack adhesive that doesn’t damage paint or drywall. Best for tenants, kids’ rooms, anyone who wants a reversible install.
- Peel & Stick Canvas Texture — a subtle woven surface that adds depth without the commitment of traditional paper. Same removability as smooth matte. Best for living rooms and feature walls where you want texture.
- Traditional Non-Woven — the long-term install option. Paste-the-wall, pigment-locked, lasts 15+ years. Best for forever homes, condo upgrades, and commercial spaces.
Every roll is printed using GreenGuard Gold certified low VOC inks onto 24-inch panels, which means no awkward seams halfway up a wall, no industrial-roll waste, and a finish that’s water-resistant and washable.
Where we make it
Our studio is in Vancouver, British Columbia. It’s a working print floor — large-format printers, wide-format cutters, a packing bench, and a small Canadian team that proofs every order before it ships. We’re proud to be operating on the traditional and unceded territories of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and sel̓íl̓witulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.

Our team
The business is led by Ben Monkhouse with Dillon Warren offering guidance and support on new ranges and customer service. Ben has spent the last four years specialising in peel-and-stick wallpaper, building Wallpaper Online Canada into the country’s largest local Canadian artist design range. Ben’s work has been featured in Reno & Decor, the Globe and Mail’s Globe Style, and the Toronto Star home section.
Our Vancouver team includes print operators, a Canadian-side design team curating the local artist collection, and a customer service team you can reach by phone, email, or message during BC business hours.
What we believe
Three things shape how we work:
- Made here, not imported. Every design we sell is printed in our Vancouver studio. No drop-ship from China, no US import warehouses. That keeps lead times short, supports Canadian manufacturing, and gives you a real Canadian to call if something goes wrong.
- Reversible by default. Two of our three substrates are removable. Wallpaper shouldn’t be a 20-year commitment — it should be allowed to evolve with your taste, your kids’ age, your move to a new condo.
- Honest about materials. We tell you which substrate suits which wall, why peel-and-stick fails on certain paint types, and where traditional non-woven is genuinely the better choice. We’d rather sell you the right product than the most expensive one.
