Slender ochre-brown trunks branch across a warm cream paper-textured ground, carrying sage and olive leaves and pale yellow-orange fruit. Small grey birds perch among the branches and tiny butterflies drift between them. Vintage Orange Trees has a medium scale and a garden-orchard feel that suits a kitchen, a breakfast room, or a bright living room.

This design is by Yvonne Hart, a Canadian watercolour artist based in Southern Ontario. She creates whimsical, storybook-inspired patterns rooted in her garden, and the perching birds and small butterflies here give this orchard that feeling. It is part of our Canadian Artists collection, printed to order in Vancouver, with a royalty paid to Yvonne on every sale.
The ground is a warm cream with a fine speckled texture. The leaves are sage and olive green, the branches ochre and warm brown, and the fruit a soft yellow-orange. The birds are pale grey. In daylight it reads fresh and light; lamplight warms the cream and fruit, which suits kitchens used in the evening.
The trees form a medium-scale, all-over pattern with leaves spread evenly across the wall. It has plenty of detail up close, but the soft palette keeps it from feeling crowded from a distance. The light cream ground keeps rooms bright.
Fruit trees feel natural in a kitchen or breakfast nook, especially with white or green cabinetry and wood surfaces. The design also works in a living room or a dining room. It suits cottage, vintage and Scandinavian interiors, and pairs well with sage, mustard and soft blush accents.
For a kitchen, traditional paste-the-wall paper is the most durable choice and handles regular wiping well. Peel and stick is easy to install and remove, which suits rentals or a single feature wall. Canvas-textured peel and stick adds a subtle woven surface that complements the painterly look of the trees.
