Chinoiserie wallpaper brings the painterly elegance of East Asian-inspired art to one continuous wall. Every design here is a wall mural rather than a repeating pattern, printed to the exact size of your wall in our Vancouver studio and shipped across Canada. Look for cranes and storks in flight, weeping willows, flowering branches, misty mountain landscapes and lush oriental florals. Several scenes come in a choice of colourways, from soft beige, peach and grey to green and teal, while deep midnight grounds set a moodier tone. A chinoiserie mural is a natural fit behind a bed, along a dining room wall or in a front entry. Choose Peel & Stick Smooth Matte, Peel & Stick Canvas Texture or Traditional Non-Woven, and preview it first in the room visualiser. Browse all wall murals, bird wallpaper or dining room wallpaper.
Chinoiserie is a European decorative style inspired by Chinese and East Asian art, popular since the 1700s. It typically features cranes and other birds, flowering branches, willows and misty landscapes in a painterly, hand-drawn style. It feels both classic and fresh, especially in dining rooms, bedrooms and front entries.
Classic chinoiserie was painted as one continuous scene around a room, so a mural is the most faithful way to recreate it. Each design is printed to the exact width and height of your wall in 24-inch panels, so the birds and branches flow without a visible repeat and you don't pay for more than you need.
Yes. Our design team can recolour, rescale or mirror a design at no extra cost, and you approve a proof before anything is printed. This is useful if you want the cranes positioned around a window or headboard, or want the background to sit comfortably with your existing paint colour.
Peel & Stick Smooth Matte is renter-friendly, removable and washable. Peel & Stick Canvas Texture adds a woven, art-canvas surface with zero glare that suits a painterly chinoiserie scene. Traditional Non-Woven is a PVC-free, paste-the-wall option rated for 15+ years, best installed by a professional.
