Peel-and-stick
- Backing peels off, panel presses onto the wall. No paste, no water tray, no soaking time.

Traditional wallpaper is a specialist trade. A good installer earns their fee back in the walls that stay smooth for years, the seams you cannot see, and the pattern that lines up perfectly across a tricky corner or a switch plate.

How do I know how much wallpaper to order?
Every product on our site has a wallpaper calculator built in. Enter your wall width and height and we work out the rolls or panel count for you, with a small overage baked in for pattern matching. If you are hiring an installer, they will confirm the quantity for you before you place the order - many do a free site measure.
What does professional installation typically cost?
Rates vary by installer and region but typically fall between $3 and $8 per square foot in Canada, with a minimum call-out fee. Feature walls and murals sit at the lower end; full rooms with intricate pattern matching, staircases, or difficult substrates sit at the higher end. Every installer sets their own rates - get a quote directly from the ones on this page.
Do I need to prep the wall before the installer arrives?
Most installers prefer to prep the wall themselves so they can guarantee the finish. At minimum, remove wall art, curtain rods, and switch-plate covers, and let them know if there is existing wallpaper to strip. Ask them at the quote stage - they will tell you exactly what they need on the day.
Can I peel-and-stick over existing wallpaper?
No. Peel-and-stick needs a clean, smooth, painted surface to adhere properly. Existing wallpaper must be removed and the wall primed first. If you are unsure how to handle removal, hire a pro for that part - it is worth it.
What if I want to hire an installer but there is not one in my area yet?
We are actively growing the network. Send us your postal code and we will let you know if any of our installers travel to your region, or connect you with a trusted painter or general contractor in your area who has installed our wallpaper before. Email wally@wallpaperonline.ca.
Can the installer handle removal of my existing wallpaper?
Yes - most installers on our list will strip and prep old wallpaper as a separate line on their quote. Have them look at the existing paper before quoting so they can price the removal accurately (some come off cleanly, some take real work).
Are the installers on this page employees of Wallpaper Online?
No. They are independent professionals - each runs their own business. We vet them, we recommend them, and we work with them regularly, but you contract them directly. Payment, scheduling, and warranty of workmanship are between you and them.
What happens if something goes wrong with the install?
Talk to your installer first - most stand behind their work and will make it right. If the issue is with the wallpaper itself (a print defect, colour issue, or damaged shipment), that is on us and we will replace it at no cost. If the two get tangled up, email us and we will help sort it out.
