Algonquin Treeline Mural Natural

A long line of stylized treetops in soft greens, taupe and gold stretches across the wall, like a quiet Algonquin shoreline rendered in fine linework. The horizontal format suits a living room, bedroom or hallway with distance to take in the whole scene, and tiles cleanly along longer walls.

Installation

Every roll comes labelled with a panel number and an install guide sized for your wall. Most jobs take a confident DIYer half a day; wider walls and murals are worth hiring a pro.

Full step-by-step guides: Traditional Non-woven install guide · Peel & Stick install guide

Before you start

  • The wall should be clean, dry, smooth, and dust-free. Fill any nail holes and lightly sand.
  • New drywall or freshly painted walls should cure for at least 3–4 weeks first.
  • Prime with a matte wallpaper primer for the best long-term adhesion (Traditional Non-woven material only).
  • Lay out the panels on the floor in order before you start so you know the sequence.

Traditional Smooth (glue required)

  1. Apply heavy-duty wallpaper paste to the wall — not the paper.
  2. Hang the first panel with a small overlap onto the ceiling and skirting, plumb from a laser line.
  3. Butt each subsequent panel edge-to-edge — no overlap on panel seams.
  4. Smooth from centre outward with a felt roller to push out air.
  5. Trim the top and bottom with a fresh blade against a metal edge.

Peel & Stick

Same install approach as Traditional Smooth, with one key difference: overlap murals by 1" at each panel seam instead of butting edge-to-edge. Peel the backing panel-by-panel and press onto a clean, primed wall, smoothing from top-centre outward. Repositionable during install, so you can lift and re-align if a panel drifts.

How to calculate what you need

Because every order is custom printed to your exact wall, there's no repeat maths, no wasted rolls, and no leftover offcuts to store. Just measure your wall — we handle the rest.

Step 1 — Measure your wall

  • Width: corner to corner at the widest point of the wall.
  • Height: floor to ceiling at the tallest point.
  • Round up to the nearest inch (or cm).
  • For walls with slopes or angles, measure the widest and tallest extents — we'll cut to fit.

Step 2 — Add overlap

We automatically add 2 inches (5 cm) of overlap on every side so the installer can trim cleanly to the ceiling, skirting, and corners. You don't need to add it yourself.

Step 3 — Enter your wall size on the product page

Use the "Width × Height" fields on this page. We'll show you the price for your exact wall in the material you've chosen. No calculator, no per-roll maths.

Murals vs. wallpapers

  • Murals — a single non-repeating artwork, scaled to fill your wall edge to edge.
  • Wallpapers — a repeating pattern (typically 24" × 24" repeat unless noted), tiled seamlessly across your wall.

Standard roll sizes

Prefer a traditional pre-cut roll rather than a made-to-measure order? Get in touch and we'll produce the design in a standard roll size for you. Contact us.

Materials

Three materials to choose from, each cut to your exact wall. Pick the finish that suits your install method and the room. Not sure? Order a free swatch pack — one of every material with a sample of your favourite design.

Smooth Matte Peel & Stick material sample
Smooth Matte Peel & Stick

Soft-touch smooth matte texture. Self-adhesive with a backing paper — think of it as a giant sticker. The easiest install we offer, and easily removable without damaging your walls.

  • Waterproof & washable
  • DIY difficulty 5/10 — peel-and-stick
  • Removable without wall damage
  • Great for splash zones & kids’ rooms
Canvas Texture Peel & Stick material sample
Canvas Texture Peel & Stick

Fine art-canvas texture that adds a luxury look and feel to any wallpaper or mural. Zero glare (it’s the same finish used on movie sets), still self-adhesive with a backing paper for a straightforward install.

  • Waterproof & washable
  • DIY difficulty 5/10 — peel-and-stick
  • Removable without wall damage
  • Zero glare — used on movie sets
  • Great for splash zones & kids’ rooms
Traditional Non-woven paper wallpaper sample
Traditional Non-woven

The original style of wallpaper — a non-woven paper hung with paste-the-wall glue. Wipe-able but not waterproof. Best for feature walls with lower traffic where you want that classic paper feel and finish.

  • Glue required — paste-the-wall install
  • DIY difficulty 8/10 — consider a pro
  • Wipe-able (not washable / waterproof)
  • Cut & soak to remove
  • Best for lower-traffic feature walls

Customization

Every design on this site can be adjusted to fit your project. Because we print to order, custom changes aren't upcharges on top of a stock product — they're just part of how we work.

What we can change

  • Colour — recolour the design to match your palette. Send us a Pantone, a paint chip, or a photo.
  • Scale — enlarge or shrink the pattern. Great for feature walls where a 24" repeat would feel too busy, or where a bigger motif is the design intent.
  • Size — cut to your exact wall, including sloped ceilings, arched openings, and inset panels.
  • Material — mix any design with any material we stock.

Custom murals from your own artwork

Have a photo, a painting, or a family archive image you want on your wall? We print custom murals from client artwork at the same per-square-foot rates as our stock designs. We accept basically any file format — JPEG, PNG, TIFF, PSD, PDF, AI, EPS, RAW, or a link to Dropbox / Drive / WeTransfer. Higher resolution is better, but we'll happily take a look at whatever you have and tell you what's possible.

What colours are in the Algonquin Treeline Mural?

The treeline moves through sage and olive greens, warm taupe, and soft gold, all set against an off-white sky. None of these tones are saturated, so the wall reads calm rather than loud, and the warm taupe and gold keep the greens from feeling cold. It pairs easily with wood furniture and natural textiles already in the room.

How large do the trees appear on the wall?

The canopy is drawn at a scale that reads as a real treeline rather than a repeating motif, with individual trees large enough to recognise from across the room. On a full wall the different crown shapes and heights stay distinct, giving the eye somewhere to land without the pattern breaking into fine detail up close.

What scene does this mural actually show?

It depicts a wide forest edge, a row of varied tree canopies – conical pines, rounded deciduous crowns, a few bare branching silhouettes – set against a plain pale sky, in the spirit of an Algonquin shoreline rather than a dense jungle or single species stand.

Does my wall need to be a certain size for this mural to look right?

It helps to have enough open floor space to step back and see the treeline as a whole scene, since that is how it is composed. A wall you pass close by without ever standing back from will show it in pieces rather than as the full view, so a repeat pattern often suits a narrow passage better.

Which wall in the room should I put this mural on?

Papering the wall the room is arranged around, or the one facing the doorway, gets the most use out of a scene like this. A wall you only see from behind a sofa or on your way out of the room does less work, even if the treeline itself would suit it well.

Great local company to deal with. Lots of options to choose from. I ended up going with a mural that didn’t have exact lines that had to be matched up just because I’ve never installed wallpaper before. Luckily had a friend help me that had. Other reviews are correct in stating the biggest issue is at the ceiling seam, or where the walls meet, is most likely not going to be straight. I chose to line up where the wall to wall meet as I did a feature wall vs lining it up perfectly at the ceiling. No one can see 9ft up at the ceiling seam. I did the outside panels first and then the middle panel. That was the way to go, the middle panel had a bit of an over lay on to the other panels but lined up really well given there wasn’t exact lines to match up. I think had I gone with exact lines I would have needed a professional installer that could combat the issue with the ceiling and wall seams not being straight. Overall the wallpaper was excellent and was really easy to adjust a few times while I was working out bubbles or creases. I got the peel and stick and just unpeeled a few inches at a time as I worked out the bubbles. The idea to use a piece of the box it shipped in worked well. Used a credit card for really stubborn bubbles. Would choose wallpaper from wallpaper online again, really happy with the final result! Thank you!

I really like the samples option. I got two and am about to get enough of one to do the room I was looking for a solution for. I am also going to get a couple more samples in that order to consider for other spots in the house.
