Pale watercolour magnolias in white and blush drift along fine charcoal branches over a soft, paper-textured grey ground. Plum-tipped buds and small dark seed pods add depth without crowding the medium-to-large scale motif. Magnolia Trellis Grey suits a dining room where it can be seen whole, a calm bedroom feature wall, or an entryway that needs a gentle floral rather than a bold one.

Magnolia Trellis Grey was painted by Yvonne Hart, a watercolour artist based in Southern Ontario whose patterns draw on her garden and on charming old-world details. It is part of our Canadian Artists collection and is printed to order in Vancouver, BC. Yvonne earns a royalty on every sale, so each order supports her work directly.
The ground is a mid-light dove grey with a mottled, handmade-paper texture. The magnolias are white washed with blush pink, with deeper plum at the centres and buds, and the branches are drawn in soft charcoal. In warm lamplight the grey reads softer and slightly warmer; in cool Canadian winter daylight it leans toward a clean silver grey, which keeps the pink petals looking crisp.
The largest blooms are a generous medium-to-large size, with smaller buds and side sprays filling the space between them. Because the branches are fine and the flowers are pale, the overall effect is airy rather than busy. The grey ground sits in the middle of the light range – light enough to keep a room open, with enough tone to give the white petals definition.
It works especially well in a dining room, where a full wall shows off the flowing branches and the grey pairs easily with wood tables and upholstered chairs. It also suits a bedroom or a quiet reading corner. Stylistically it sits between modern and traditional – grey keeps it contemporary, while the hand-painted florals bring a softer, romantic note.
The design is printed with latex inks that cure to a wipeable surface, so everyday marks can be lifted with a soft, damp cloth and a little mild soap. Avoid abrasive pads or harsh solvents. The inks are Greenguard certified for low chemical emissions, which makes the paper a comfortable choice for bedrooms and dining rooms used every day.
