The design sits on a deep navy ground with hydrangea blooms painted in watercolour blue and leaves in sage and olive green. Navy and blue are cool tones that visually recede, so the wall feels like it sits back rather than pressing forward, which helps a smaller dining room or hallway feel less boxed in.
It is a floral design arranged in a formal, symmetrical repeat, with a central hydrangea stem flanked by smaller blooms and trailing leaves on either side. That structure gives it the balance of a damask while keeping the botanical detail of a painted flower front and centre.
Each bouquet is bold enough to read clearly from across a room, with only a handful of repeats needed to fill an average wall. It works best where there is space to see the full bouquet rather than in a tight corner where it would feel cropped.

Blues and greens are generally the most forgiving colours for rooms meant for winding down, and this design leans on both. Used on a single wall behind a bed, the navy ground and cool blue blooms keep the room calm rather than stimulating, unlike warmer reds or oranges.
