The ground is a mottled mauve and warm brown, worked with rust orange and soft blue-grey around the central figure, and broken up by white origami shapes scattered through the lower half. The mauve recedes and reads calm from a distance, while the white boats lift the wall and keep the darker tones from feeling heavy in rooms with limited daylight.
A cubist, haloed figure sits at the centre of the composition, built from angular planes in rust, orange and grey-blue, with a six-point star set into a dark circle behind the head. The fragmented, folded forms around it echo the paper boat shapes at the base, tying the whole scene together as one layered image rather than separate motifs.
It reads best where there is enough wall and enough distance to take in the figure, the star and the cluster of boats as one scene, rather than a narrow hallway glimpsed in passing. A living room, dining room or home office wall gives it the room to be read properly, with furniture kept low enough not to cut into the central figure.
Because the scene is a single composed image, anything placed against the wall will cover part of it permanently, so it is worth deciding in advance whether the figure, the star or the drift of paper boats matters most to you. A sofa or sideboard along the base will sit in front of the boats, leaving the upper two-thirds visible from across the room.
Yes, it is printed here rather than shipped in from elsewhere, and each order is produced to the measurements supplied for the specific wall it is going on. That made-to-order approach is why getting the wall measurements right matters more than picking a stock size off a shelf.
