Flower Fireworks Terracotta is part of the Terracotta Stone Garden series by Canadian surface pattern designer Eli Nora. Her background in architecture and graphic design shows in the balanced spacing of each burst, and she draws on flowers and organic forms for her motifs. The design is in our Canadian Artists collection, printed to order in Vancouver, and each purchase pays her a royalty.
Most of the wall is a warm terracotta, a clay red with an orange lean. The petal bursts are outlined in deep maroon and filled with rose and soft peach, so they read as a tonal variation on the ground. In sunlight it looks bright and earthy. In cool Canadian winter light it settles into a softer brick tone, and under warm lamps it feels deep and glowing.
The bursts are medium scale and widely spaced in an offset repeat, so a lot of plain terracotta shows between them. Because the motifs are tonal and well apart, the overall effect is calm and orderly, more like a scattered emblem than a dense floral. It is a mid-tone, colour-rich wall.
Its warm colour and calm spacing make it a good choice for a dining room, where it feels welcoming in the evening. It also works on a living room wall behind a green or cream sofa, and in a home office where you want colour that does not distract. It suits mid-century, modern and Mediterranean-inspired interiors.
Yes. Indoor humidity in Canadian homes changes a lot between heating season and summer, and paper responds by moving very slightly. Let the panels rest in the room for a day before installation, ideally at your normal heating or cooling setting. That small pause helps the seams sit tight, which matters on a plain-ground design where the seams are more visible.
