Starling Reels draws from 18th-century textile archives — the kind of damask that lined drawing rooms in Georgian townhouses. The scrollwork is intricate without being fussy, rendered in charcoal and dove grey that shifts tone depending on the light. Pattern repeats every 21 inches but the eye reads it as continuous because the negative space between motifs carries equal weight. Particularly effective in rooms with existing traditional architecture — crown moulding, chair rails, coffered ceilings — where the wallpaper reinforces rather than competes. Works as a dining room feature wall behind the sideboard, in a home office where you want gravitas without darkness, or as a powder room statement where the small scale makes busy patterns feel intentional rather than overwhelming.
